HDR Photos From Tokyo
HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography is a process used to allow a larger range of luminances in one photo. The best HDR photos are generally created with multiple digital photos but you can use Photoshop to fake it.

National Geographic Wallpaper Downloader
Someone posted a Linux command line utility a few weeks ago that downloaded all of the 2009 photography contest entries into a folder and that was nice but this is much better. No command line interfaces to mess with and this program will allow you to download up to 5000 (!) wallpaper images for your own personal use. Throw in a nice wallpaper auto-cycling program and you have a really nice collection of desktop backgrounds. I have been using the 2009 images for a while now and they are pretty impressive.

Thrift Shop Horrors
Isn't this pretty much the most hideous thing that you have ever seen? I can't believe that someone would hang this anywhere!
I found this at the THRIFT SHOP HORRORS blog and if you enjoy looking at junk like this you should definitely subscribe to this blog! This blog features almost daily posts of lots and lots of thrift store junk and oddities. It's too bad that we can't replicate that thrift store smell to make the experience more authentic....

The Flintstones View Master Reels
While they aren't nearly as good as the real thing you can get a sense of the 3d imagery behind View Master reels using this animated GIF technique. This time you get to see the old Flintstones reels from the 60's, one of my favorites as a child.

3D Stereograms as Animated GIF's
Cursivebuildings has posted quite a few Stereograms converted to animated GIF's. I really like this process and if I ever get more time I will digitize some of my 3D collectoin and share it with the world as well.
