SNES Browser Playable Games

Who would have ever thought that something like this was possible? Now if it would only work reliably...

Rymdreglage’s Music Video ‘8-bit trip’

I can't say that I care so much for the song but the video is definitely cool!

The Three Stooges Amiga Game Intro

This one was way better than the arcade game - I know, it's not saying much but still... it was.

Early Home Video Game System on WHAT'S MY LINE

The system is the Odyssey and I do believe that I had one all those years ago! This one even came with stickers (note the stick figure tennis players in the video) that you could put on the tv to make it look more 'realistic.'

Mario Vs. Pac-Man

Top Board Game Video Games

UGO.com has posted a nice list of the top video games that are based on board games. There are certainly a lot of crappy ones (anyone remember the Trivial Pursuit arcade game?) but there are lots of good ones. I tend to shy away from the total 'luck based' popular American board games but they are not all bad and they are usually decent plays with the younger kids.

Soccer Balls (a Flash game)

The graphics are pretty bland and the gameplay is ultra simple but the levels do get challenging after you play for a while. Despite the aforementioned, I keep finding myself strangely attracted to this game and then I can't quit...

Phage Wars (Flash Game)

I just stumbled upon this pretty adictive flash strategy game and thought it very worthy of a mention on my blog. It's a kind of viral war game in which your goal is to capture all of the opponents locations. Addictive and fun.

Google Pac-Man

If you haven't been to www.google.com since last Friday you need to hurry up and do it if you want to play their version of Pac-Man that has been imbedded in the logo. It seems to use original sounds and graphics and is just as much fun as the original (take that for what it's worth I guess).
Google originally said that it would be up for two days but now it looks like it may last for the weekend.

PC Gamer's Top 100 PC Games of All Time

PC Magazine has released their list of the top 100 PC games of all time (as voted by the readers) and I have to say that although I haven't done much PC gaming in the last few years it doesn't look like I have missed much as most of the games that I played for hours (and hours) are on the list and there aren't very many newer games.

Guitar Hero 5 (<$15 at Amazon.com)

Guitar Hero 4 had a whole bunch of unknown songs which would usually not be that big of a deal to me as exploring new music is almost a daily ritual but most of them are in foreign language and most of my family hated trying to sing these songs. Guitar Hero 5 has returned to feature more 'popular' music and makes for a pretty good family game (especially if you already have the instruments).

Before your purchase I have to warn you that the language may not be entirely appropriate for all members of the family.

Six Million Residents In Sim City 3000!

I guess it took this guy a long long time to make this. I used to play the heck out of this franchise and I don't ever remember getting more than million residents.

A Visual History of In-Store Video Game Kiosks

Before we had any video games at home I used to hang out at the stores (Sears) and play the 'free' video game kiosks until they kicked me out. This one brings back a lot of memories for sure!

I guess Mario and Luigi run some shops in Manchester when they are not saving the Princess?

Gamer Speed Runs the LEGEND OF ZELDA Blindfolded!

I just saw this article on Boing-Boing and only clicked ahead because the headline said 'blind gamer completes speed run of Zelda'. The video starts with a guy wearing a blindfold but later it does seem that they helped a blind man complete the game with a 100,000+ stroke script!
