Doctor Who - The Curse of Fatal Death

Starring Rowan Atkinson as the Doctor, Jonathan Pryce, Hugh Grant and a host of others this 1999 special was originally aired as a 4 part series on "Red Nosed Day" - the day in which Comic Relief holds it's biggest fundraiser every year in the UK.

The Great American Fourth of July

Our family just finished watching MY SUMMER STORY (a movie based on the writings of Jean Shepherd and once again narrated by Jean) and we found it mildly entertaining, certainly not up to the caliber of A CHRISTMAS STORY but close in my opinion. Being on somewhat of a Jean Shepherd kick recently I have been searching for the other movies based on his writings and came upon this on youtube. A very young Matt Dillon stars as Ralphie in this PBS movie.

Jack Benny Christmas Shows (Old-Time Radio)

The humor is sometimes corny - after all it has been 70 years since many of these shows originally aired - but I always enjoy this show. There are about 14 episodes to choose from and I don't think that you can go wrong with any of them.

Duffy's Tavern (old-time radio show) With Special Guest Boris Karloff

Duffy's Tavern was a popular comedy that ran on the radio from 1941-1951. This show from 1943 was a special show devoted to selling war bonds, a popular practice of OTR shows from this era, and guest starred Boris Karloff.

The National Lampoon Radio Hour

Egg City Radio has posted the first six episodes of this short-lived (November 1973 to December 1974) show. Most of the early cast of Saturday Night Live is featured (John Belushi, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Gilda Radner to name a few) and most of the bits were written by the great comedy writers of our time. Most of the National Lampoon records were created with material from this show. Highly recommended.

Have you seen the Christopher Walken 'Needs more cowbell' skit from Saturday Night Live? Well this person apparently did and they obviously loved it as much as the rest of us did because they created this website to allow others to add 'more cowbell' to their favorite (or not so favorite) tunes.
