Growing up in Northern Ohio we had our own fair share of great horror hosts but I had an aunt and uncle who lived in Cincinnati and I got to catch the Cool Ghoul a few times when we were visiting. Here is a nice 30 minute tribute/retrospective to the late host of Scream-In.

Halloween Haunt's HORROR HOSTS Podcast

This one just came to my attention and I knew that many of this blog's fans would be very interested. I have not yet listened but how can you make a bad podcast if all that you are doing is chatting about classic horror hosts? This would make a good companion to the excellent AMERICAN SCARY documentary.

The Ghoul on TV 20 (Cleveland Horror Host)

One of my favorites when I was a kid. Of course we had access to a plethora of horror hosts in our little city - Superhose, The Ghoul, Big Chuck and Little John (nee Hoolihan and Big Chuck), and Ghoulardi (I was too young for him, he was long gone by the time of my formative years).

Superhost's 20th Anniversary Special (from 1989)

One of my favorite memories from my childhood was growing up in Northern Ohio and watching our local 'celebrities' as they did their 'night-jobs' as horror hosts. Our area had a rich history (Ghoulardi, The Ghoul, Hoolihan and Big Chuck, Big Chuck and Little John, Superhost) in this genre and I feel lucky to have been able to be there as it happened.

Here is the 20th anniversary special (from 1989) as aired on WUAB-TV 43 (thanks to some kind soul at youtube and to the wonderful Horror Host Graveyard for alerting me to the availability of the video).
