Swiss Family Robinson (Comic Strip From 1926)

Another nearly lost comic strip and another fine example of early comic art.

The Stainless Steel Rat (the comics)

I think that I have read all, or at least most, books of this series by Harry Harrison so I guess you could consider me a fan. I had no idea that there was a comic series based on this series of books though but thanks to The Crosseyed Cyclops (again, where do they find all of these gems?) we can now read this six issue mini-series.

Dan Kelly narrates NHL 50 YEARS - FROM 1930 to 1980

So this one is really not 'music' per se but I bought this sealed album from eBay recently and wanted to share it with anyone who may be interested. It is narrated by Dan Kelly, a Canadian born sportscaster famous for his radio coverage of the St. Louis Blues from their inception (1967) until his untimely death in 1986. Includes lots of great radio play by play coverage and interviews with most of the greats of hockey during this era. A must listen if you have any interest in the NHL.

Gay Purr-Ee

Michael Sporn's Animation blog has a nice posting up dealing with the 1962 animated film GAY PURR-EE. As a child I have very fond memories of watching this on the Sunday afternoon movies
