Jumping the Shark

In case you weren't alive in the late 1970's this is where the phrase 'jumping the shark' came from. It alludes to the fact that this is a defining moment in a tv series' life when the show goes completely down the tubes as it strive to re-identify itself and it ends up ruining everything that was good. It's inevitable with any successful series and it's kind of unfair for Happy Days to get the moniker but that's how it is!
