Tokyo bar matches

Anyone remember back in the 70's (or earlier) when it seemed like EVERYONE smoked? Back in this day there were no disposable lighters so you had to carry around a semi-expensive ZIPPO lighter or, as most seemed to do, a book of matches.

Lots of people collected these matchbooks, myself included. There were lots of interesting designs and colors and it was a relatively cheap hobby. And when you got tired of it you could have fun playing with matches (just don't let your mom find out).

An interesting gallery of matchbook covers from Tokyo can be found here.
