King's Island

One of the big summer highlights for us kids growing up was visiting our aunt and uncle in Cincinnati. No, we didn't care that much about Cincinnati but they did have KING'S ISLAND. King's Island was a fairly large amusement park and a HANNA-BARBERA license. Having the HB license meant that all of my favorite cartoon characters were running around in the park. Add to that the Enchanted Voyage ride and we were in a Saturday Morning Cartoon version of kid-heaven.

Booksteve has a nice blog posting here with a bunch of scans from a 1973 brochure and click here for a different brochure from the same year.

And for you Brady Bunch fans, this is the amusement park that the family went to when the kids were older (you know, the one where they had to relay the blueprints back to Mike at his meeting?).

Update: I found some concept drawings for Hanna-Barbera land that I knew I should share. Click here to see them.
