I remember an old Batman costume from the mid-'60s that had a full-head hard plastic cowl with a bat-symbol "pin" for the cape (separate piece). The outfit itself was a purple affair with a yellow image of Batman striking a lurking-behind-the-cape pose with the logo "The Bat" over it. I loved that cowl.
