Meco - Superman and Other Galactic Heroes

I was really excited when I found this one in the bin of one of my local thrift stores but it just doesn't deliver! I don't know if it's because I had such fond memories of Meco's Star Wars songs or if it's because I just dislike this generic form of disco so much but I can tell you that it sounds very dated and rather formulaic. From 1978, the album is mostly a tribute to the very popular Superman movie of the time but side two is labeled as 'Other Galactic Heroes' featuring tributes to Batman and Robin, Tarzan and Wonder-Woman - but I can't for the life of me figure out how they relate to these characters! I was hoping that they would be related in some fashion to the correspondingly well-known tv themes but alas this is not the case as they are rather random sounding to me.

MECO's entry From Wikipedia:

Meco (real name Domenico Monardo, born 29 November 1939) is an American record producer and musician, as well as the name of a band or production team based around him. Meco is best known for his 1977 disco (Space Disco) version of the Star Wars theme from his album Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk; both the single and album were certified platinum in the U.S.
