Afro-Pop Monday
If you have never heard any afro-pop I strongly suggest that you give it a chance right now! I absolutely love the infectious rhythms and the interesting sounds that almost always encompass this style.
Ezy & Isaac - Soul Rock (1974) - posted at My Favourite Sound
Fantastic soul-funk album - recorded in Italy but definitely African influence. Link
Nord Cameroun Rythms - Self-titled - posted at Oro
I really like this one too but I don't know what else to say, so I won't. Link
Kelenkye Band - Moving World (1974) - posted at Prog Not Frog
These guys are (or were?) from Ghana and had a lot of blues and rock influence. Link
The Funkees - Now I'm a Man - posted at DeltaT Goes Back
Another very good one that you should get if you like this genre. The Badongo link works. Link

Nice choices...
ReplyDeleteDon't link to a post that has a broken link to an LP without even checking it. thats just plain careless. I would be happy if you actually did post Kelenkey band though!
