Some of you reading the blog won't believe this, but back in the 'old days' when we only had five or six channels to choose from (unless we lived in New York, Los Angeles, or some other large city) the stations actually turned off at night and then we had NO CHANNELS TO CHOOSE FROM!!!! Oh the horror, not only no Cartoon Network but no ANYTHING!!!
This guy has started a website to collect old signoff videos. Unfortunately these are only US stations because I would love to compare them to other countries. If any of you readers from the other countries can share anything - either in the comments or as web links - it would be appreciated. Ours were always military/patriotic in nature and I think that this was actually required by law (?).
