Here is what I have been enjoying throughout the past week - all of this can be obtained from my Amazon store.
Video
Godzilla - Box set - seven movies, each one includes the original Japanese version and the English version. It is kind of amazing how different the first couple of English movies are compared to their Japanese counterparts.
Blade Runner- HD-DVD - I know, it's pretty much a dead format but how can you not love this five disc set (also available on Blu-Ray).
European Vacation - OK, did I say enjoying? Nearly pathetic, the laughs are few and far between. I watched the original last week and it was much better.
The Office - Again. For one it is a show that the whole family enjoys. We just finished watching season 3 and 4 (the first few episodes before the strike) and went back to 1 (a quickie, 6 episodes) and have started season 2 again. Yes, we have watched all of these episodes at least four times now. Will we get sick of it? I don't know. The show is actually pretty deep on many levels.
The Outer Limits - Season 3 (Original Series) - Deep Discount DVD had a great sale recently and I picked up the third set of this great series. It gets cheesier and sillier as it rolls on but it is still lots of fun to watch if you are a 50's sci-fi fan.
Audio
Dead Kennedys - I found a good blog that had all of their cd's posted and they are a good listen. Lots of one minute wonders.
The Who - old Who from the 1960's is always fun. These guys were great for a long time and, even though they are not officially classified as 'geezer rock', they still put on a good show. Do you think Jim Morrison would still be carring on if he were alive?
MGMT - Oracular Spectacular - Their latest cd kicks butt.
Lots of old psych/prog - I have been on a kick lately. Listed in no specific order: The Tiffany Shade, Hawkwind, The Nuggets Series, the Rubble series, and lots more.
Stereolab - Just got the three cd/one dvd set. Frickin' awesome. I have never really seen them live so the dvd is really cool with some live performances.
1950's Rock - from Pandora.fm. Fun and they play enough variety to make it interesting. I would still like to hear more obscure stuff other than top 40 from ANY ERA. Combine Pandora's Box and Last.FM for some great free music that you can play like a radio station but with bands/genres/songs that you select. I use this at work all of the time.
