Chateau Chaumand by Andrea Delmonico

Book Review - Chateau Chaumand by Andrea Delmonico

The Groovy Age of Horror has been reviewing a bunch of gothic romances that sounded kind of interesting so I picked up a large lot on EBAY and dove in.

Unfortunately I started with a real clunker of a book. Not much gothicism here unless you count a visit to a dark basement as gothic.

A lady gets married and goes to an island resort, people get murdered and they find out who did it. The end.

Yawn. I hope that the other books I have are better. Even the sex in the book was horrible - Charles and Geraldine start some heavy petting and then... Charles wakes up in two hours. Oh come on now!

The author was one Eula Atwood Morrison writing under the pseudonym of Andrea Delmonico. Apparently they did that a lot back in 'the day.' Maybe they were embarassed?

  1. Yeah, these things can be awfully hit or miss. As for pseudonyms, that was a very common practice for paperback originals back then. Cool blog!
