The Worst Cartoons EVER!!!

I got the idea for today's post from Jerry Beck's WORST CARTOONS EVER! dvd. I haven't actually seen it but I am definitely going to order it after watching these clunkers. How do you spell Pee-Yuuu (as in really really stinky)? There is also a website for the dvd here and apparently this is the only place that you can purchase the dvd (at $15 it's not a bad deal).

New Year's Day Related Cartoons

This might be a hard one but I thought it would be fun to find out which, if any, cartoons were created to celebrate New Year's Day. There are tons and tons of Christmas themed cartoons but how many are there for this special day? Let's find out!

(I know, most of this stuff didn't air on Saturday mornings.)

Update #1 (7:45 AM): Ten minutes into my search and I am having a heck of a time finding ANYTHING! I knew that it was going to be hard but wow...

Update #2 (8:10 AM): I must be forgetting something, didn't any of my favorite shows as a kid (or even Looney Tunes?) make a New Year's Day episode?

Update #3 (8:20 AM): If I stretch my search a little I can find some episodes that take place on New Year's Eve/Day and some Japanese Anime.

I saw this one posted at Classic Television Showbiz and I'll be darned if I haven't seen this show in over thirty years. It was a staple of Christmas tv programming for kids back in my day and was based on a New York Sun editorial from 1897! The animated special was created by Bill Melendez, a name that should sound familiar to Cool-Mo-Dee fans as the creator of most of the animated Peanuts specials, including A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS and IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN. Melendez passed away in 2008.

Saturday Morning Cartoons Celebrate Christmas

Before I even start looking for these I know that it's going to be hard. For one searching youtube will be difficult because there are thousands (if not millions) of videos tagged as 'Christmas.' But the most difficult aspect of this search will be the fact that most Saturday morning cartoons tried to keep away from any calendar related themes for maximum repeatability. I will reluctantly have to admit specials into this roundup or I probably wouldn't find anything.
