Various Artists - Random Radar Records

I found this one at a thrift store a few weeks back and after doing a bit of research on the net I found that it was long out of print and a highly desirable piece for many jazz/electronic rock fans. The album was released in 1977 by Random Radar Records and has never been reprinted. To my ears it is mainly jazz with some rock undertones. It is definitely not your standard plain vanilla jazz and I find it to be a very interesting and a pretty good listen.

If you would like more information, there is actually a discogs page for the record here.

Comics Post - American Flagg! #1

A new series is starting today - AMERICAN FLAGG! from FIRST COMICS. I only have the first thirty issues (out of fifty). The series started in 1983 and ran for four years. It was later re-issued in various trade formats.

Weird Toys Reviews The Classic Monster Toys By Imperial

Oh my god! These things are pretty horrible when you start looking at the closeups! My biggest question though is why did they decide to use ORANGE pants and a BRIGHT RED shirt for the wolfman? I know the movies were in black and white but I doubt that he really wore these colors!

Saturday Morning Monster Cartoons

Being that it is MONSTER WEEK at Cool-Mo-Dee I figured that I should post my favorite monster cartoons for this week's installment of Saturday Morning Cartoons. Let me know in the comments if I left your favorites out of my list.

Teen Wolf - a Saturday morning series based on the popular movies

The Real Ghostbusters - another spinoff from the popular series of movies

Frankenstein Jr. and the Impossibles - I was a little young for the first run of this series but I enjoyed it as reruns.

Scooby Doo Where Are You? - I loved ALL versions of this show, including Scrappy!

Drak Pack - I wasn't watching many Saturday morning cartoons by this time but I still liked this show.

Godzilla - If only Gadzooki wasn't involved it could have been so much better.

Dungeons and Dragons - I wasn't a huge fan of the show but I liked the monsters.

HR Pufnstuf - I don't know if these guys were supposed to be monsters but they really creeped me out when I was a youngster.

The Groovie Goolies - Once again, I was too young to remember the first run of this show but I loved any of the rare reruns that I could watch.

King Kong - Another one that I missed during it's original run and, sadly, never saw much of in reruns.

Considered but missed the cut: most of Hanna-Barbera's Scooby knockoffs and most of the other Sid and Marty Kroft 'monster' stuff.

Universal Monsters Poetry (!) Collection

I had no idea that this existed but why should I? I hate poetry. But I love the monsters, so maybe it would be a good match? No, I am pretty sure that I hate poetry more than I love monsters. But if you happen to be a person who likes poetry AND monsters then maybe this is for you?

Here is a link to a really good review of the book.

Paul Cheswick's Robin Hood

N. C. Wyeth's Robin Hood illustrations are second to none and a big reason why I started collecting illustrated Robin Hood books. Take a peek at this link compliments of Golden Age Comic Book Stories.

Popcorn - The Song

Anyone else remember this hit from the late 70's? I have a 45 of this song done by a band called HOT BUTTER but the K-TEL blog has posted this compilation by some band called ELECTRIC COCONUT. I am downloading right now so I can't compare but if it is different I will upload the original later.
