Favorite Halloween Cartoons

What would Halloween be without the classic IT'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN???
Another favorite of mine that does not get the respect that it truly deserves - THE FAT ALBERT HALLOWEEN SPECIAL:
The Crosseyed Cyclops has posted a downloadable version of FAT ALBERT'S HALLOWEEN SPECIAL here.

Halloween Sound Effects CD's at Amazon.com

Anyone remember those cheesy cassette tapes or 8-tracks that our parents used to play when we were kids. They always sounded the same and the one that I remember the most is the Disney Haunted House collection. Well don't forget to treat your kids and the neighbor's kids as you greet the trick-or-treaters this Halloween! Amazon has lots of different compilations available for instant MP3 download.

Halloween Music From Around the Web

Halloween is only a few days away so get yourself in the mood with some great Halloween music:
Music For Maniacs has posted a nice "Caribean Hallowean" collection (their words) including 16 "'60s/'70s Afro-Latin-Reggae-lypso" songs.
Dartman's World of Wonder has posted Lionel Barrymore's "Hallowe'en: A Musical Fantasy" - somewhat bizarre but still worth a listen.
Vinnie Rattolle has posted a giant batch of Halloween Music. I linked to it in an earlier post but it's worth it to go back as he has posted some more of his great stuff, including some home-made Halloween compilations.
Music You (Possibly) Won't Hear Anyplace Else has returned again this year with some great home-made compilations as well.
Paul's Ramblings has another nice homemade compilation up for grabs too.
Distinctly Jamaican Sounds is doing a Halloween countdown of their own (again), posting a different track each day in October.

The Scooby-Doo Chronology

Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! made its CBS network debut on Saturday, September 13, 1969 on CBS. The show was cloned multiple times (Josey and the Pussycats, The Funky Phantom, The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan, Goober and the Ghost Chasers, and I can go on!). The show/character then spawned many spin-off tv series (including The Scooby Doo Movies, The Scooby-Doo Show, Scooby and Scrappy, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, and many more!) and quite a few tv specials and direct to video films.
The show was even adapted into two live action theatrical movies in 2002 and 2004 and a third direct to video feature that was released earlier this year (2009).
By my count that is FORTY YEARS of Scooby-Doo!!! Wow!

Retro-Minute - Halloween
Short, and pretty light and airy (as in airhead like) but I guess it's ok for a one minute review of Halloween tv specials throughout the ages.

More Halloween Goodies!

This one is a repost from a couple of years ago (by special request) because that link was dead. Nice garage/Halloween music here, great stuff and highly recommended if you like either.

Not technically a Halloween album but most of these songs are from horror movies and it makes a nice complement to I WAS A TEEN-AGE BRAIN SURGEON. More garage/low budget stuff here.

Tales From the Cryptkeeper

Tales from the Cryptkeeper was an animated series for children created by Nelvana Limited and Warner Bros. Pictures. It was based on the live-action television show, Tales from the Crypt, which aired concurrently on HBO. Being directed at children, Tales From the Cryptkeeper was significantly milder than the live-action HBO version.
The series was canceled in 1994 and returned as New Tales From the Cryptkeeper in 1997 with different animation.
